Reducing Our Environmental Footprint
At Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact through responsible day-to-day operations and continuous improvement. Our focus includes improving energy and water efficiency, whilst supporting recycling and waste reduction initiatives. As part of this commitment, all guestrooms and suites feature large-format bathroom amenities to reduce reliance on single-use plastic bottles, while dual waste and recycling bins encourage responsible disposal and recycling during a guest’s stay. Energy-efficient LED lighting has also been implemented throughout the hotel to help reduce overall energy consumption. Guests can further support these efforts through Accor’s Skip the Clean initiative, which rewards ALL members who opt out of daily housekeeping during their stay. By reducing the frequency of room servicing, the program helps conserve water and lower energy consumption.

Food & Beverage
Through Parklands Social: NY Deli & Grill and our meetings and events offering, we aim to make thoughtful choices that support local suppliers and reduce unnecessary waste. Where possible, we incorporate locally sourced and seasonal ingredients into our menus and carefully plan catering requirements to minimise excess. Our culinary team is committed to reducing food waste through thoughtful kitchen practices, taking a whole-ingredient approach wherever possible. By finding creative uses for ingredients across multiple dishes, we aim to minimise waste while delivering quality dining experiences for our guests.
.
Meetings & Events
We work with organisers to deliver successful events while incorporating practical sustainability considerations wherever possible. This includes utilising our Purezza filtered water system in meeting and event spaces and participating in the Nespresso coffee capsule recycling program. Filtered water is served in reusable glass bottles, helping to reduce single-use packaging and the environmental impacts associated with transport, waste collection, and disposal. Our approach is focused on reducing unnecessary waste and resource consumption while maintaining a seamless and professional event experience.

People & Community
Sustainability extends beyond environmental initiatives. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and genuine hospitality for our guests and team members. We aim to understand and accommodate the diverse needs of our guests, creating welcoming experiences that reflect the warmth, character, and diversity of both our team and local community.
Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill aims to provide a welcoming experience for all guests. The hotel offers designated accessible parking spaces, lift access to most accommodation floors, and step-free access from the car park to reception, meeting & event rooms, and Parklands Social: NY Deli & Grill. While our guestrooms are not classified as accessible rooms, we aim to assist guests wherever possible. As accessibility requirements vary between individuals, we encourage guests to contact our team prior to booking so we can discuss their needs and help determine whether our facilities are suitable for their stay.
